What is trip comparison?
Compare puts two or more travel packages next to each other in a single table. Instead of opening several operator websites and reading each one in a different format, you see the price, duration, stay, meals, transport, and cancellation terms under the same headings.
It shows what operators have listed. It does not rank them or judge their quality, so the cheapest package is not automatically the best one. Use the comparison to spot differences, then ask the operator about anything that matters to you.
What a comparison shows
-
Price The listed price for each package, shown at the top of its column.
-
Duration and destination The number of days and nights, and where the trip takes place.
-
Stay, meals and transport The type of accommodation, the meal plan, and how you travel.
-
Group size and guide The maximum group size and whether a guide is included.
-
Cancellation policy The terms the operator has published for changes and refunds.
Details an operator has not published appear as "Not specified".
Compare in three steps
Pick your trips
Choose a trip in each search box at the top of this page, or use the Compare button on package cards in search results and on destination pages.
Read them side by side
Use "Hide common details" to show only what differs, or "Highlight differences" to mark the rows where the packages disagree.
Confirm with the operator
Open a trip's details to reach the operator, then confirm availability, the final price, and the terms. PickThePackage does not take booking payments.
Terms you will see in a comparison
Operators describe their packages in shorthand. Here is what the common terms usually mean, so two listings are easier to compare.
- Ex-Dehradun, ex-Manali, ex-Leh
- The trip starts from that place. "Ex" usually means you are responsible for getting there, and the price covers the journey from that point onward. Check whether pickup and drop are included.
- Base village or basecamp
- The place where the trek itself begins, such as Sankri for Kedarkantha. Transport to the base village is often listed separately from the trek.
- SIC (seat in coach)
- Shared transport, where you travel with other guests on the same vehicle and schedule. A private vehicle costs more but gives you control over timing.
- CP, MAP and AP meal plans
- Hotel meal plans. CP covers breakfast, MAP adds one more meal, usually dinner, and AP includes all main meals. Trek packages often describe meals in plain words instead.
- Acclimatisation
- Time set aside to let your body adjust to altitude. Itineraries with acclimatisation days are longer, but they reduce the risk of altitude sickness on high routes.
- Group departure or batch
- A fixed-date trip with a set group size, where you join other travellers. A custom or private departure is arranged around your own dates and group.
