Step 1 of 3What kind of trip are you looking for?
Step 2 of 3How demanding should it be?
Step 3 of 3What is your budget and trip length?

The budget is a ceiling on the listed package price. Travel to the start point, gear and insurance are usually extra.

How the Trip Finder works

Picking a trip from hundreds of listings is slow when every operator describes difficulty and price differently. The finder turns your answers into filters on our search page, so you start from a short list instead of a long one.

1

Choose a trip type

Pilgrimage, trekking, adventure activities or road-trip circuits. This sets the category for your search.

2

Set how hard it should be

Easy, moderate or challenging, based on daily walking time and altitude, so you do not sign up for more than you can handle.

3

Cap your budget and days

Set a price ceiling per person and, if you want, a trip length. Results show up with prices from different operators.

Choosing a difficulty level

Operators rate difficulty in their own way, so use these as a rough guide and read the day-by-day itinerary before you book.

LevelTypical daySuits you if
Easy Two to four hours of gentle walking, mostly at lower altitude. You are new to trekking, travelling with children or older relatives, or do not exercise often.
Moderate Four to six hours with steady climbs, often camping above 10,000 ft. You walk, run or cycle regularly and can carry a day pack for several hours.
Challenging Long, steep days and high passes, sometimes above 14,000 ft, with cold nights. You have finished a multi-day trek before and trained for it in the weeks beforehand.

Whatever you pick, give yourself time to acclimatise on high-altitude routes, and tell your trek leader straight away if you get a headache, nausea or breathlessness that does not ease with rest.

Trip Finder questions

It does not score or rank anything. The three answers you give (type of trip, difficulty and budget, plus trip length if you choose one) are passed to our search page as filters, so you see every published package that matches them. You can loosen or change any filter on the results page.
Start with Easy if you have not walked for several hours a day before, or if you are travelling with children or older family members. Moderate suits people who exercise regularly and can handle four to six hours of hiking. Pick Challenging only if you have done a multi-day high-altitude trek already.
It is a per-person ceiling that we compare against the listed package price. Travel to the starting point, personal gear, insurance, extra nights and meals not covered by the package are usually extra, so check the inclusions on each trip page and ask the operator for a final quote.
Widen the budget, choose a different difficulty, or leave the trip length open. Not every combination has a published package, particularly for challenging treks on a low budget. You can also browse all destinations or compare two operators for the same trip.
No. We list and compare trips run by independent operators. When you send an enquiry, it goes to the operator you picked and they confirm dates, price and payment with you directly. Read our refund and cancellation page before you pay anyone.
No. The finder and the search results are open to everyone. An account is only needed to save trips to a wishlist or to leave a review.
Most high-altitude treks in Himachal, Uttarakhand and Ladakh run from May to early October, once the passes open. Snow treks such as Kedarkantha and Brahmatal are popular from December to March. Monsoon months bring landslides to many routes, so confirm the season with the operator.
