Friendship Peak Expedition, Himachal Pradesh
Friendship Peak stands at 5,289 m in the Pir Panjal range, directly above Solang Valley, a short drive from Manali. Often called a 'trekking peak', it is in reality a compact mountaineering expedition that bridges high-altitude trekking and technical climbing. The route climbs from oak and pine forests around Dhundi through alpine meadows at Bakarthach/Lohali, onto the exposed ridge campsite known as Lady Leg, and finally across glacial moraine and steep snow slopes to the summit. Climbers get 360-degree views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges, including Hanuman Tibba, Deo Tibba, Indrasan and the Seven Sisters, along with a distant view of the sacred Beas Kund.
