Kashi Vishwanath - Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
Kashi Vishwanath is a Shiva temple and one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, situated near the western bank of the Ganga in Varanasi. The present temple was constructed under Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar in 1780. Pilgrimage visits commonly combine temple darshan with the riverfront ghats, evening Ganga Aarti and nearby Sarnath. These are urban pilgrimage and cultural sightseeing trips, not mountain treks.
