Know before you go

After paperwork, a theory briefing and basic skill practice in shallow water, a 5-10 minute boat ride takes you to a Havelock dive site. Havelock dive sites such as Red Pillar, Nemo Reef and SS Inchkett are known for turtles, manta rays, barracudas and occasional sharks. The experience takes about 2-3 hours, with a maximum depth of 12 m, using government-authorised boats and checked equipment. No swimming skill is needed. The minimum age is 12 and the maximum is 55. Pregnant women, people with back or respiratory issues and people with disabilities are not permitted to dive.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Briefing, shallow-water skills and boat dive

Arrive at the dive centre at 05:30 AM for forms and staff introductions. Equipment fitting (mask, fins, booties, dive suit, BCD) is at 06:00 AM, followed by the theory briefing at 06:15 AM and surface skills at 06:30 AM. Board the boat around 06:50 AM for the short ride to the dive site. Practise skills underwater and dive from about 07:00 AM. Return to the dive centre around 08:00 AM, change, and receive your Discover Scuba Dive certificate.
