Beginners first attend a confined-water pool session covering equipment, breathing underwater, regulator recovery, mask clearing, alternate air source use and BCD basics. The group then travels by boat about 19 km to Grande Island for a roughly 30-minute dive to a maximum depth of 12 m (40 ft). No swimming skill is required, and the minimum age is above 10. Do not fly within 12 hours after diving. Certified divers can take an upgraded 2-dive option at ₹5,500.

Pool briefing, boat to Grande Island and scuba dive

Gather at the Candolim dive centre by 7 AM and drive to the beach jetty to board the boat around 8:10 AM. Complete the compulsory confined-water pool session with a PADI-certified instructor. Travel about 19 km by boat to Grande Island and do a roughly 30-minute dive to a maximum of 12 m with an instructor beside you. Underwater photos and video are taken. The group returns around 2:30-3:00 PM, with hotel return noted by 3:00 PM.
