Shimla to Kafnu
Triple/quad-sharing guesthouse at KafnuWith the transfer booked, meet at Shimla Old Bus Stand at 06:00 for approximately 200 km driving over 7-8 hours to Kafnu. Settle into the shared guesthouse. No cloakroom is available because the route finishes on the other side of the pass.
Kafnu to Mulling
Twin-sharing tent at MullingWalk approximately 11 km in 7-8 hours through silver birch, pine and oak forest alongside mountain streams. Carry the packed lunch and follow the guide's crossing points. Reach Mulling after roughly 2,700 ft of published altitude gain.
Mulling to Kara
Twin-sharing tent at KaraTrek approximately 6 km over 4-5 hours on rocky terrain, with the last kilometre described as a steeper ascent. Continue past streams towards Kara. The day card places Kara near 3,600 m, unlike a lower figure in the general attractions text.
Rest and Acclimatization at Kara
Twin-sharing tent at KaraStay at Kara for acclimatization, with short walks around camp and a Kara Lake visit if conditions permit. This is the rest day in the current detailed sequence, not the differently positioned Phutsirang buffer described in older FAQ text.
Kara to Phutsirang
Twin-sharing tent at PhutsirangAscend approximately 5 km in 4-5 hours to Phutsirang. The continuous climb crosses stony ground and loose scree, gaining around 1,900 ft. Rest at high camp and prepare for the long crossing according to the leader's instructions.
Cross Pin Bhaba to Bwaldar
Twin-sharing tent at BwaldarTrek approximately 17 km over 11-12 hours, climbing steeply to the pass before descending to Bwaldar. The environment shifts from the Bhaba side towards the dry Pin Valley. Snow, scree and stream conditions determine the guide's route and equipment use.
Bwaldar to Mudh and Kaza
Triple/quad-sharing guesthouse at KazaWalk approximately 12 km in 5-6 hours through the Pin Valley to Mudh, then drive approximately 50 km in 2-3 hours to Kaza. Stay at the included shared guesthouse. The meal inclusion ends with the packed lunch, so arrange Kaza dinner separately.
Kaza Checkout and Optional Manali Transfer
No overnight stayTake the optional approximately 200 km, 9-10-hour transfer to Manali if booked, otherwise arrange onward travel from Kaza. Published Manali arrival is 18:30-19:30, subject to roads and weather. Keep additional buffer time; a used extra trek day costs INR 2,500 plus GST per person.

- Triple/quad-sharing guesthouses at Kafnu and Kaza, with separate male/female allocation; five twin-tent nights.
- Vegetarian/egg meals from Day 1 dinner to Day 7 packed lunch.
- Base manager, trek leader, chef, local guides, support staff and common-luggage porters/mules.
- Camp/sleeping equipment, technical gear as required and group medical/oxygen equipment; participants carry issued personal items.
- Indian-national permit/entry charges and Kafnu-Kaza services, subject to actual authorization.
Exclusions
- 5% GST and optional Shimla-Kafnu/Kaza-Manali transfers; confirm add-on fare and book in advance.
- Mandatory insurance: premium inclusion and eligibility are not established by the 'mandatory' label; obtain a policy quote.
- Day 7 Kaza dinner, all Day 8 meals, transit meals and personal expenses outside the stated window.
- Used extra buffer day INR 2,500 plus 5% GST per person, payable to the trek leader; clarify additional lodging and meal coverage.
- Personal bag offloading and unlisted add-ons require separate confirmation; no cloakroom facility.

Cancellation Terms
Cancel from the registered email to info@trekthehimalayas.com. Before 25 days: 5% trek-fee deduction; 24-15 days: 30%; 14-10 days: 50%; less than nine days: no cash refund. Clarify day-25/day-9 gaps. Voucher and transfer alternatives depend on window; only eligible cash-paid amounts qualify for cash refund, with 15-30 working days processing stated. External cancellation before pickup may offer alternative travel or one-year credit; after arrival at pickup, no cash/voucher compensation is promised. Add-ons have separate terms; confirm the chosen batch.
