Aru to Lidderwat
Twin-sharing tent at LidderwatStart the trail from Aru towards Lidderwat. The published stage covers approximately 10 km over 6-7 hours through the river valley and forest/meadow approaches. Finish at the shared campsite and rest before the higher climb.
Lidderwat to Shekwas
Twin-sharing tent at ShekwasAscend towards Shekwas on the operator's six-kilometre, five-hour stage. The climb reaches open high-altitude meadows after lower forest terrain. Follow the leader's pace and settle into the designated camp for the night.
Shekwas to Tarsar
Twin-sharing tent in the Tarsar areaWalk approximately four kilometres over 3-4 hours to the Tarsar basin. The shorter distance still involves a substantial climb to around 12,500 ft. Explore only permitted areas near camp as weather and the leader's assessment allow.
Tarsar to Sundarsar
Twin-sharing tent in the Sundarsar areaLeave Tarsar for the crossing towards Sundarsar. The quick itinerary lists six kilometres and approximately five hours. Negotiate the ascent and descent under the guide's direction, then rest at the designated Sundarsar campsite.
Marsar Viewpoint and Homwas
Twin-sharing tent at HomwasVisit the Marsar viewpoint when conditions permit, then descend towards Homwas. The published stage is approximately 11 km and seven hours. The source's 4,100 m/13,100 ft ridge conversion conflicts, so do not rely on it for precise altitude planning; use the operator's 13,500 ft headline when confirming insurance coverage.
Homwas to Aru and Optional Srinagar Drive
No overnight stayDescend approximately 13 km in 6-7 hours to Aru. If booked, continue on the 112 km return drive, listed at four hours.
