Know before you go

The Bikat Adventures route starts from Manali and transfers trekkers to Jobra before walking through Chika, Balu Ka Ghera and Shea Goru. The route crosses Hampta Pass at approximately 4,200 metres before descending to Chhatru and driving to Chandratal, subject to road conditions.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Manali to Jobra and Trek to Chika

Tents

Drive from Manali to Jobra and begin the trek through maple, deodar and oak forest alongside Rani Nallah before reaching Chika campsite.

Day 2

Chika to Balu Ka Ghera

Tents

Trek through meadows and river crossings toward Balu Ka Ghera, gaining altitude through Jwara and increasingly open alpine terrain.

Balu Ka Ghera to Hampta Pass to Shea Goru

Tents

The longest and most demanding day involves climbing through snow and boulder sections to Hampta Pass, followed by a steep descent into Shea Goru.

Shea Goru to Chhatru and Chandratal Excursion

Tents

Descend to Chhatru across rugged terrain and continue by vehicle toward Chandratal Lake when roads and weather permit, returning to the Chhatru area.

Chhatru to Manali

No Overnight Stay

Drive from Chhatru to Manali through the Lahaul landscape and Atal Tunnel, reaching Manali before or around midday depending on road conditions.
